Lalage launched her own label in 2005 having gained extensive experience designing for famous
English fashion houses during the eighties and nineties.
Trained in Fashion at the University of the West of England, Lalage (who is in fact English - the name is Latin and
pronounced La - la - gee) began her career at Aquascutum, where she developed her understanding of the true meaning
of quality. Lalage has an unrivalled appreciation of tailoring, textiles and finish and consequently went on to design for
several other celebrated English brands (Burberry and Mulberry to name but two) before her three year sabbatical in
New Zealand. Here Lalage focused her attentions on buying and retailing designer clothing, but she returned to
England in 2004 to design her first collection under her own name.
Lalage's creations combine classical elegance with individualistic details for a look that embodies sophistication
and style. The pieces are beautiful, original and chic but in an understated way, meaning the garments transcend
the flightiness of high fashion. The collection demonstrates true craftsmanship with lasting appeal and
understandably her boutique has acquired a loyal following with customers enjoying the subtle sexiness of the
clothes. It is feminine but without the frills and therefore ideal for any occasion from the boardroom to
cocktails.
Lalage designs many of her unique fabrics and achieves a polished and immaculate image but her sense of fun is
inherent in every piece. Taking inspiration from the 60s, her timeless designs suit any age and the simplicity of
the cut will flatter most silhouettes. Why not call Lalage for a personal style consultation; ideal if you need
help putting together a capsule wardrobe or alternatively if you require some honest advice from an expert in the
tricks of shape, shade and proportion. |
